Amal is a word that means hope. Down this name is born in 2003 the International Festival of EuroArab Movies Amal organized by the Foundation Araguaney-Puente of Cultures. It arises with the target to bring near to the public the Arab social and cultural reality, using a universal language as it is the movies.

Amal offers to the spectators the possibility of gaining access to a movies that does not come to the commercial circuits for the distribution absence. The movies and the conferences with the directors constitute the fundamental part of the Festival, a meeting point to impel the dialogue between professionals of the world of the seventh art.

The cultural Amal proposal goes beyond the movies. In these seven years the Festival has reinforced and extended his activities offer in order to show a vision poliédrica of the Arab world: exhibitions, contests, workshops of movies for children and Arab gastronomic week there were some of the proposals that passed for Amal.

The Festival is provided with the support of important institutions and entities, between which they emphasize the State Department and Cooperation across the Spanish Agency of International cooperation (AECID) and the Galician autonomous government.
The edition of Amal 2010 will be loaded with the best movies and, coinciding with the Holy Year we hope to be able to come to a major number of spectators, extending and improving the cultural offer.
