In The Puebla of Montalbán (Toledo), locality of big cultural tradition, between other things for being the cradle of Fernando de Rojas, a wide group of persons, who in turn organize a movies - clubs and a reading club, there has experimented with his activities the tie that exists between the movies and the literature.
In the world of the movies,-refiriéndonos to contests, samples or festivals - there is very widespread the absence of recognition of the work of the producers of the “Seventh Art” who do movies on adapted scripts. It is important to observe that this "gap" is very significant opposite to the sinnúmero of events that recognize and reward the quality and validity of the original script.

The scripts of movies adapted to a work, which previous support was the text or the image of a novel, essay, theater, or graph as in the cómic …, they do not have, from our point of view, a space in this type of events that turn the public into anything any more than mere spectators. These spectators turn into active "critics" before a newly supported work.

The interest that wakes up for every public or reader lover of the culture in general, the knowledge and exchange of feelings or reflections with the creators in the different disciplines of the culture, literature, painting, music, etc., and in this case the movies, has led us to raising the birth of this “Festival of the Movies and the Word”.

This Festival aspires to create a space of meeting where they have fitted aspects that go beyond the existence of a mere adapted screenplay, opening to many other facets of the cultural and intellectual life of our country, of our region, and his relation with the world of the celluloid.

The first edition, celebrated in November, 2009, was a public's success and it had a big reception between professionals and fans of the movies. We are provided with the presence of several very well-known names and we had the honor of receiving the premiere of the last movie of Vicente Aranda, "Warm Moon". The proper director and the actress Thäis Blume shared with us the projection.
For the edition of this year 2010, we hope to overcome the success of last year and fulfill the targets that we have fulfilled ourselves so that little by little, CiBRA is a reference to national level and is counted between the most important film festivals of our country.
