The 38th edition of the Film festival of Huesca will turn into the best shop window of the Latin-American and international short, with a whole of 124 qualifications of 39 countries to competition selected between 1372 received qualifications originated from 56 nationalities. Of them, 36 will take part in the Latin-American Contest of Shorts and 38 in the International Contest. For his part, 28 will inform the Latin-American Contest of Documentaries and 22 in the International one. Also, 156 international histories originated from 11 countries will compete for the Award in his category. In this edition, the awards endowment amounts to 52.000€.

The contest, which will be celebrated in the from Huesca capital from June 4 until June 12, 2010, bets in this new edition for the documentary and for the importance of the Latin-American movies in his list of winners, extending this category with a double contest, in the line of the existing one in the short section. From this year, the Contest of European Documentary - with awards for the short and the full-lenght film - is replaced with two contests of characteristics similar to the current ones of shorts: one of Latin-American Documentary Short and other of International Documentary Short, both provided with an award at the price of 7.000 euros. With this new bet, the festival offers a major presence to the Latin-American film makers, who from the beginning of the contest have been provided with an out-standing place. The qualifications of the chosen movies will appear from today on the web page of the festival.
