Festival of Classic Theater of Merida
Edition LVI
COMMENTS
56 edition of the Festival of Classic Theater of Merida will consist of seven spectacles and 32 representations throughout one month and a half.
Medea, Electra, Prometeo Encadenado and Lisístrata will be 4 works entrusted to put the Greco-Roman extract in the contest. These 4 works will be represented from July 16 until August 8, coinciding this year with what is going to be the first stage of the festival.
The second stage of the festival will be provided with another three works of classic inspiration, and they will be represented between the 11th and 29th of August: Calígula, in version of Albert Camus (coinciding with the time with 50 anniversary of the death of the writer); Electra, in version of Benito Pérez Galdós; and The Greedy one, of Moliére (work inspired by “Aulularia or The Comedy of the Pan”, of Plauto).
